Operations Engineer

Job purpose

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned sites, hard services, specialist services, and required documentation.
• Track preventive and reactive maintenance and coordinate with on-site service providers to keep work on schedule.
• Monitor specialist systems and service delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
• Plan, schedule, and review daily maintenance and operations for building MEP systems.
• Investigate complaints and resolve issues with facilities teams, landlords, tenants, and residents.
• Ensure compliance with building rules, safe work practices, legal requirements, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain departmental and site records and prepare inspection, KPI, maintenance, operational, incident, accident, and technical reports.
• Assist the Facilities Manager with project implementation and support equipment purchasing.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage communication with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and regulators.
• Prepare quotations and estimates, identify training needs, and ensure contractual deliverables are provided on time.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of technical maintenance experience, including facilities management exposure in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• At least 3 years of the overall experience must be in the UAE.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements in facilities management and a CAFM system.
• Proven experience in MEP asset management and managing supervisors, technicians, and specialist subcontractors.
• Practical hands-on technical knowledge of MEP assets.
• Experience in airports, museums, or critical facilities is preferred.
• FMP from IFMA or IOSH professional certification is preferred.
• Willingness to be based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
