Sr. Operations Engineer

Job purpose

Operations and maintenance

• Inspect hard and specialist services at assigned sites and ensure required documents are in place.
• Track preventive and reactive maintenance by appointed service providers and coordinate onsite work against schedules.
• Monitor specialist systems and service delivery against service-level agreements and key performance indicators.
• Plan and review daily operations and maintenance for building MEP systems and monitor system and equipment performance.
• Investigate complaints and disturbances, resolve problems, and liaise with facilities teams, landlords, tenants, and residents.
• Follow building rules and community guidelines, maintain departmental and site documentation, and meet operational requirements.
• Ensure operations follow safe practices and QHSE guidance and meet legal, statutory, and authority requirements.
• Assist the Facilities Manager with project implementation and the purchasing department with property equipment requirements.

Reporting, energy, and service delivery

• Submit inspection reports, service-provider KPI reports, FM trackers, and other administrative and technical reports.
• Monitor energy consumption, identify opportunities to save energy, and implement measures to improve efficiency.
• Manage relationships and regulatory communications with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and customer groups.
• Prepare maintenance schedules and operational, incident, accident, technical, and other routine or special reports.
• Prepare quotations and estimates and coordinate with technicians to ensure accuracy.
• Follow contractual deliverables and ensure required services are delivered on time.
• Identify team training needs and create and maintain training schedules.
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and fire assessment plans in coordination with HSE.
• Address and resolve system and equipment issues at client facilities and issue repair reports.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 8–10 years of facilities management experience.
• Knowledge of CAFM systems and MEP systems.
• Innovative and conceptual skills; numerical and problem-solving ability.
• Communication, influencing, planning, and organizing skills.
• Leadership, teamwork, and computer proficiency.
