Job summary

Fit-out project responsibilities

• Manage assigned fit-out projects from initial client brief through final handover.
• Develop fit-out plans with engineers, considering space use, building codes, and client requirements.
• Assess existing building conditions, structural elements, and MEP systems for feasibility and potential challenges.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, using BIM software when applicable.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure adherence to plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Inspect sites, monitor progress, resolve quality issues, and ensure safety compliance.
• Manage budgets and timelines and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
• Guide junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Stay current on fit-out trends, technologies, sustainable building practices, and materials.

HSEQ and customer relations

• Comply with HSEQ policies, procedures, and local legislation, and seek guidance when needed.
• Build proactive working relationships with authorities and help identify service improvements.

Minimum qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in an engineering role within the fit-out construction industry.

Job-specific skills

• Strong knowledge of civil maintenance, including structural repairs and finishing works.
• Understanding of building construction, materials, and structural systems.
• Ability to assess defects and recommend suitable repairs.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning tools.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Strong project coordination and contractor management skills.
• Willingness to be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Arabic speaking is an advantage.
