OFFSHORE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design offshore structures; perform calculations, load assessments, code checks, and design verification.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and other engineering documentation.
• Use structural analysis software and review structural 3D models and design deliverables.
• Evaluate structural, equipment, and environmental loads and coordinate inputs and interfaces with other disciplines.
• Review drawings and calculations; support material take-offs, bills of materials, and technical requisitions.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews, workshops, and technical meetings.
• Support technical queries and engineering activities from FEED through detailed engineering, fabrication, and execution.
• Ensure deliverables meet project specifications, quality requirements, applicable standards, and schedules.

Key qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Relevant offshore structural engineering experience in FEED and/or EPC projects; no numeric minimum is specified.
• Hands-on offshore oil and gas experience, particularly with fixed platforms, topsides, jackets, and modules.
• Experience with structural analysis, calculations, load assessments, code checks, and design verification.
• Hands-on experience with SACS, SESAM, STAAD Pro, or equivalent structural analysis software.
• Working knowledge of API RP 2A, AISC, ISO 19902, and DNV standards.
• S3D (Smart 3D) experience; TEKLA, E3D, or PDMS knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to review structural models, drawings, calculations, and deliverables and coordinate across engineering disciplines.
• Middle East/GCC offshore project experience is an advantage.

Skills and tools

• Structural analysis software may include SACS, SESAM, STAAD Pro, or equivalent.
• Modeling and design review tools include S3D (Smart 3D); TEKLA, E3D, or PDMS may apply depending on project requirements.
