Role overview

Mechanical Package Engineer working on oil and gas projects during FEED and detail design phases.

The position focuses on design, specification, and coordination of mechanical equipment packages, with emphasis on ADNOC onshore projects.

Engineering design and coordination

  • Design and calculate package equipment including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Prepare and review package datasheets, specifications, P&IDs, and layouts; ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international codes.
  • Coordinate package integration with process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
  • Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and calculations for procurement packages.

Project delivery support

  • Support FEED and detail design, including load calculations, weight and center-of-gravity analysis, and equipment selection.
  • Provide technical support during queries, design reviews, and HAZOP sessions.
  • Meet project schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of relevant oil and gas project experience, with proven ADNOC onshore experience.
  • Experience with FEED and detail design documentation, 3D modeling, and package design coordination.

Technical qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
  • Hands-on experience with chemical injection, refrigeration, filtration, and centrifuge packages.
  • Familiarity with material selection, mechanical calculations, stress analysis, and rotor dynamics.
  • Proficiency in PDMS, Smart Plant, AutoCAD, CAESAR II, or equivalent engineering software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
