Programme overview

The National Crime Agency is recruiting trainees into investigator, intelligence officer and analyst pathways.

The programme lasts two years and is designed to develop trainees into accredited NCA officers.

There are 25 roles available across commands and business areas.

Listed locations include Birmingham, Bridgend, Bristol, Chelmsford, Crawley, Dover, Exeter, Gatwick Airport, Gillingham, Heathrow Airport, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Normanton, Nottingham, Slough, Solent, Stevenage, Sunderland, Tolworth and Warrington.

Role and training

  • Trainees support the NCA’s response to serious and organised crime and the protection of the public.
  • Trainees evidence competence across investigational, intelligence or analytical competencies on their chosen pathway.
  • Successful completion of training and exams leads to accreditation as an NCA Investigator, Intelligence Officer or Analyst.
  • Accredited officers are trained to participate in serious and organised crime investigations to a national standard.
  • Career pathways may include overt or covert investigations.

Requirements

  • No prior law enforcement experience is required.
  • Trainees must complete the bespoke two-year programme, pass a series of exams and achieve accreditation.

Pay and contract details

  • The listed salary is £32,107.
  • London weighting of £4,379 per annum and South East weighting of £3,504 per annum may apply, depending on location.
  • The source lists the contract as permanent and the working pattern as full time with flexible working.
