Role overview

The employer seeks an experienced accountant with 4–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including practical Odoo ERP experience.

The role manages day-to-day accounting, financial records, reporting, reconciliations, closing, audit support, and Odoo-enabled financial operations.

The successful candidate may grow into a Senior Accountant or Assistant Account Manager role based on performance and contribution.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage Odoo accounting transactions, AP, AR, invoices, bills, credit and debit notes, receipts, and payments.
  • Perform bank, cash, customer, and supplier reconciliations; manage general ledger accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, trial balances, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and management reports.
  • Support month- and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, depreciation, and journal entries.
  • Maintain Odoo accounting configuration, journals, taxes, payment terms, workflows, and accurate account classifications.
  • Coordinate accounting integration with Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and other departments; reconcile inventory entries and assist with valuation where applicable.
  • Support internal and external audits; maintain documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and tax requirements.
  • Investigate discrepancies, improve processes, automate repetitive tasks, and guide junior accounting staff where required.

Odoo and accounting skills

  • Strong hands-on Odoo Accounting experience and understanding of Odoo Invoicing, Payments, Bank Reconciliation, Journals, General Ledger, reports, and dashboards are required.
  • Experience integrating accounting with Odoo Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and other modules is sought.
  • The role requires accounting fundamentals, double-entry bookkeeping, AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, financial closing, and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong Excel skills include Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Excel-based reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of VAT/tax accounting, accounting controls, and audit requirements is sought.
  • Exposure to Odoo implementation, migration, or customization projects is advantageous.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience and strong practical Odoo Accounting experience.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent is advantageous.
  • The candidate should demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, accuracy, independence, deadline management, analytical ability, and problem-solving.

Growth and candidate profile

The employer seeks someone able to understand how transactions flow through Odoo and affect financial statements, rather than only perform data entry.

Growth toward Senior Accountant or Assistant Account Manager depends on ownership, reporting accuracy, independent process management, problem-solving, coordination, leadership potential, and initiative.

  • Advertised pay is AED 4,000–7,000 per month.
