Role overview
Provide comprehensive women's healthcare, including reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth care, and diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions.
Clinical responsibilities
- Provide routine and specialized obstetric and gynecological care, consultations, examinations, and medical assessments.
- Provide prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care; monitor pregnancies and identify complications.
- Perform or assist with normal and high-risk deliveries as appropriate.
- Diagnose and manage gynecological conditions and reproductive health concerns; perform procedures and surgeries within scope of practice.
- Conduct and interpret investigations, including ultrasound and laboratory tests.
- Provide contraception and family-planning counseling and counsel patients on reproductive health, pregnancy, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and coordinate care with nurses, midwives, anesthetists, pediatricians, and other specialists.
- Respond to emergencies, educate patients about preventive and follow-up care, and follow clinical guidelines and patient-safety standards.
Required qualifications and skills
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Valid medical license or registration as required by the relevant health authority.
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills; communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team and commitment to confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.
- Previous obstetrics and gynecology experience is preferred.
