Role overview

A global law firm is hiring an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Senior Associate or Counsel for its established Dubai practice.

The team advises developers, contractors, sponsors, and government-related entities on high-value construction, infrastructure, energy, and major development projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider Middle East.

The position leads significant regional mandates, manages key client relationships, and contributes to practice development.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate complex construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, design-and-build, and bespoke arrangements.
  • Advise on FIDIC contracts, amendments, risk allocation, and negotiations.
  • Lead major construction and infrastructure transactions from structuring and procurement through contract execution.
  • Advise on project delivery models, procurement strategies, contractual risk, claims, variations, and dispute avoidance.
  • Negotiate consultancy appointments, subcontracts, guarantees, and collateral warranties.
  • Independently manage complex matters, supervise junior lawyers, advise clients, and coordinate with regional and international teams on UAE and KSA projects.

Candidate profile

  • Experienced Senior Associate or Counsel with a strong non-contentious construction background.
  • Experience at a leading international or highly regarded regional law firm.
  • Strong FIDIC knowledge and experience drafting and negotiating complex construction documentation.
  • Established Middle East experience, ideally across the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia.
  • Experience leading significant matters, independently managing transactions, and advising clients directly.
  • Strong technical, drafting, and negotiation skills, with the ability to supervise and develop junior associates.
  • Commercial approach and interest in client relationships and business development.

Opportunity and package

  • Opportunity to lead major regional construction and infrastructure projects with significant client exposure and responsibility for high-value mandates.
  • The role offers the chance to contribute to the growth of the Middle East construction practice and pursue long-term career progression.
  • A competitive tax-free salary, bonus, and benefits package is offered, commensurate with seniority and experience.
