Drives company values and ensures training and development activities align with organizational mission and vision.
Works with property leadership to identify development needs and ensure training supports desired business results.
Education and experience
- Certified trainer required.
- Either a two-year degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a four-year bachelor's degree in one of those fields with no work experience required.
Training delivery
- Promotes training programs and models guest hospitality, customer service, and positive guest relations.
- Supports employees in developing service behaviors and understanding guest expectations through ongoing training.
- Meets with training staff, observes service behaviors, and provides feedback to employees and managers.
Evaluation and improvement
- Monitors class enrollment and attendance, checks participant progress, and partners with operational leaders to assess employee skills.
- Reviews guest feedback and satisfaction data, measures how learning transfers to operations, and incorporates adult learning principles.
- Identifies performance gaps, works with managers on training, and adjusts methods or provides retraining as appropriate.
Planning and budgets
- Aligns training activities with organizational goals and business indicators, and develops training to improve service performance.
- Promotes brand values and incorporates guest satisfaction and continuous improvement into departmental meetings.
- Participates in training budget development and manages spending and controllable expenses in alignment with financial goals; uses a P-card when appropriate.
