Role overview

Technical product lead/manager for an evolving cloud-based MLOps and AI platform.

The posting describes a long-term opportunity in Toronto, with 1–2 days in a hybrid arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Use technical depth, system design, and leadership to build out the ML and AI platform in the cloud.
  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of MLOps solutions using AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker and other platforms.
  • Own key internal stakeholder relationships and drive the product roadmap.
  • Coordinate data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders across lines of business.
  • Collaborate with platform users, architects, cloud engineering, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead a geographically distributed offshore engineering team, provide technical direction, coach junior members, and manage priorities.

Candidate qualifications

  • Experience with the end-to-end lifecycle of building an MLOps or GenAI platform in the cloud; AWS is preferred.
  • Several years of experience in technical product management or cloud platform product leadership.
  • Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience; AWS is preferred, with working knowledge of SageMaker and related services such as ECS, IAM, CloudWatch, and S3.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code such as AWS CDK is a nice to have.
  • Proficiency in GitHub workflows, CI/CD, and version control practices.
  • Proficiency in Python and tooling such as Jupyter Notebooks, packaging, and documentation.

Location and work arrangement

  • Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–2 days indicated.
