Role overview

Education and experience

• Either a high school diploma or GED and four years of security, loss-prevention, or related experience, or a two-year degree in Criminal Justice or a related major and two years of relevant experience.

Security and loss-prevention operations

• Administer fire-prevention programs and emergency preparedness with the Director of Engineering.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, quarterly safety audits, incident tracking, and hazard abatement.
• Develop shutdown procedures and follow applicable laws, safety regulations, and key-control guidelines.
• Maintain monthly checks of CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms; inspect recording systems during patrols.
• Oversee patrols, emergency response, investigations, shipping and receiving recommendations, electronic key systems, and manager-on-duty responsibilities.
• Monitor unusual activity, manage risk-control plans, and support the Accident Prevention Committee and first-aid program.
• Oversee liability and workers’ compensation claims and protect company assets.

Team leadership and service

• Train staff in emergency procedures and communicate safety procedures and codes.
• Handle complaints and conflicts; build cooperation across departments and coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services.
• Inspect department performance, develop training, and maintain customer-service standards and satisfaction.
• Provide timely updates to executives, peers, supervisors, and coworkers.
