Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional area.
Banquet operations
- Projects departmental supply needs and applies event-related laws.
- Manages banquet activities to maximize event success and customer satisfaction while reinforcing standards and procedures.
- Maintains sanitation, manages inventory and equipment, and controls beverage costs and perpetual inventory.
- Schedules banquet service staff to forecasts and service standards while maximizing profits.
- Builds relationships with groups to retain business and support growth.
Team leadership and service
- Sets goals, delegates tasks, conducts monthly team meetings, leads shifts, and participates in event service.
- Keeps current with food and beverage, cuisine, and event trends; liaises with kitchen staff.
- Obtains guest feedback, handles complaints, empowers employees, and improves service and satisfaction.
People and safety
- Communicates emergency procedures and ensures staff receive safety training.
- Observes employee service, provides feedback, monitors progress, and participates in corrective action plans.
- Reviews meeting planner survey results and attends relevant meetings.
