MEP Estimation Manager

Job overview

Key accountabilities

• Lead preparation of cost estimates, tenders, and bid proposals for MEP projects.
• Review project requirements, specifications, and design documents for accurate, comprehensive costing.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing databases for materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Assess project risks and develop cost-effective value-engineering and mitigation solutions.
• Coordinate cost-data gathering with procurement, project management, and engineering teams.
• Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and industry standards to support competitive bids.
• Oversee compliant technical and commercial bid submissions.
• Lead, mentor, and train estimation and engineering staff.
• Support senior management in cost-control and financial-planning decisions.

Key focus areas

• Manage end-to-end estimation and tendering across large-scale MEP projects.
• Develop bidding strategies, evaluate bid/no-bid decisions, manage commercial risks, and support negotiations to improve project wins and profitability.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, identify project risks, and implement value engineering while maintaining technical compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, procurement, design, and project teams on bid preparation, handover, and execution support across regions and project types.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cost-estimation techniques, BOQ preparation, and MEP tendering processes.
• Experience managing and mentoring estimators and engineers.
• Proficiency in estimation software, AutoCAD, and MS Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy, deadline focus, and cost control.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market conditions.
