MEP Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate MEP designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Design and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-protection, and related building-services systems.
• Review drawings and technical submissions for compliance with project specifications, approved designs, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Inspect sites and monitor installation quality, progress, and compliance with approved designs.
• Identify design and construction issues and provide technical solutions.
• Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and authorities; assist with UAE authority approvals and NOCs.
• Attend meetings and provide technical input; prepare inspection reports, technical reports, snag lists, and project documentation.
• Review testing and commissioning, support issue resolution, and maintain design and site records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related MEP discipline.
• At least five years of relevant MEP engineering experience; UAE consultancy experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design, coordination, and site supervision.
• AutoCAD proficiency is required; Revit MEP / BIM knowledge is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of UAE authority requirements, codes, regulations, technical submissions, and approval processes.
• Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire-protection, and building-services coordination.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage projects and deadlines.
• UAE driving license is an advantage; relevant professional certification or membership is an advantage.

Preferred project experience

• Residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use building project experience is preferred.
• Experience dealing with UAE authorities and obtaining project approvals is sought; BIM/Revit MEP and multidisciplinary coordination experience is preferred.

Compensation

• Pay starts at AED 10,000 per month; the posting also describes salary as based on qualifications and experience.
