General Accountant

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, receipts, and payments; maintain the general ledger, journals, and accounting records.
• Process supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts; monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and prepare customer invoices and statements.
• Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations; assist with monthly and annual closing and prepare financial reports, schedules, and management reports.
• Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, forecasting, and recording project-related expenses and revenues.
• Maintain financial records and filing; assist with payroll processing and verification of payroll accounting entries.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide supporting documents; comply with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable accounting regulations.
• Assist with VAT returns and records, monitor expense authorization and documentation, support management with financial analysis, and coordinate accounting matters with external parties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting; good understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• UAE accounting experience is preferred; experience in engineering consultancy, construction, contracting, or professional services is advantageous.
• Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP, or similar accounting software experience is advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Arabic and English fluency is highly preferred; a UAE driving license is advantageous.

Pay

• AED 5,000–10,000 per month.

• Work location is in person.
