MEP Engineer

Role Overview

Technical and Site Responsibilities

• Supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV installation works.
• Ensure works follow approved shop drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Review and prepare shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, and other trades to avoid clashes and delays.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure MEP quality control.

Project Coordination

• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on MEP activities.
• Attend project meetings and provide progress reports.
• Monitor work progress and adherence to project schedules.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, safety procedures, and site rules.
• Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure MEP works comply with local authority standards, including DEWA, ADDC, and Civil Defense requirements.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain records of site activities, inspections, and approvals.
• Prepare as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
• Support quantity verification and material reconciliation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in MEP works, with UAE or GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and approvals.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in high-rise, residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities are preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is preferred.
• A valid UAE driving license is preferred.

Working Conditions

• The role is site-based with coordination between site and office.
• Extended working hours may be required depending on project requirements.
• The work location is in person in Abu Dhabi.
