MEP Draftsman

Job purpose

Drafting and systems

• Prepare MEP shop drawings for commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, office, and other interior fit-out projects.
• Develop HVAC, ventilation, chilled-water, ducting, and air-conditioning layouts; prepare electrical lighting, power, emergency-lighting, and containment layouts.
• Prepare plumbing, drainage, water-supply, sanitary, fire-alarm, firefighting, and other ELV layouts.
• Create reflected ceiling plans coordinating fixtures, diffusers, sprinklers, detectors, speakers, and access panels; prepare sections, elevations, schematics, details, and installation drawings.
• Update drawings for site conditions, engineer comments, consultant feedback, and approved design changes.

Coordination and site support

• Coordinate with architectural, interior, joinery, ceiling, and structural drawings; resolve clashes and service-routing, clearance, and maintenance-access issues.
• Attend coordination meetings and incorporate approved revisions consistently across drawing packages.
• Visit sites to verify conditions, dimensions, routes, and installation constraints; prepare as-built drawings from verified measurements.
• Support site teams with drawing interpretation and drafting-related issues; revise drawings for site instructions and actual installation requirements.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers and supervisors and support material coordination drawings and installation details.

Submissions, documentation, and quality

• Prepare and revise drawings for consultant review and approval; incorporate client, consultant, and authority comments.
• Assist with submissions following applicable Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, DEWA, and other authority requirements.
• Maintain drawing references, revision numbers, submission records, approval status, and organized electronic and hard-copy records.
• Keep design, submission, construction, and as-built drawings coordinated; identify obsolete drawings so they are not used on site.
• Check dimensions, levels, annotations, legends, references, and completeness; flag discrepancies and installation conflicts.
• Coordinate access panels and service clearances, and support final as-built drawing packages and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Three years of interior design experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Dubai location is required.

Pay

• AED 3,500–6,000 per month.

• Work is in person.
