The MEP Commercial Manager protects the company's financial and commercial interests throughout the project lifecycle.
The role focuses on cost control, billing, variations, claims, subcontract management, profitability, cash flow, and final account settlement.
Commercial and project responsibilities
- Lead commercial, contractual, and cost-related activities across MEP projects.
- Review contracts, LOAs, BOQs, specifications, subcontract agreements, and commercial terms before execution.
- Monitor budgets, cost plans, commitments, actual costs, forecasts, and project profitability.
- Prepare cost reports and cash flow forecasts; manage billing, payment applications, certifications, retentions, and receivables.
- Prepare and negotiate variations, change orders, additional works, and contractual claims, including EOT and prolongation claims.
- Issue contractual notices and commercial correspondence within required timelines.
- Review subcontractor valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts; negotiate and settle accounts.
- Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor procurement commitments against budgets and coordinate with project, QS, contracts, planning, procurement, and finance teams.
- Identify cost overruns, margin erosion, and commercial risks; develop recovery measures and mitigation plans.
- Maintain supporting documentation and report variation status, claims, receivables, subcontract liabilities, and cost-to-complete.
- Support tender pricing, contract strategy, risk assessment, dispute resolution, and project close-out; manage and guide quantity surveyors and commercial team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 10 years of experience as an MEP Commercial Manager is required.
- Relevant experience working with an MEP contracting company is asked about in the application.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 10,000–12,000 per month.
