Mechanical Foreman

Role

Planning and pre-commissioning

• Review commissioning procedures, system boundaries, drawings, P&IDs, and hook-up drawings; plan manpower, tools, equipment, and testing resources.
• Coordinate system readiness with construction teams and arrange vendor or specialist support.
• Supervise cleaning, flushing, pressure testing, calibration verification, equipment rotation checks, mechanical completion, and punch-list clearance.

Commissioning and startup

• Lead commissioning of pumps, compressors, rotating equipment, packaged units, utility systems, and mechanical support systems.
• Work with HVAC, fire protection, water, compressed air, and process-facility mechanical systems.
• Conduct performance tests, functional checks, interlock verification, startup assistance, and troubleshooting; complete checklists, reports, and Commissioning Inspection Requests.

Safety and coordination

• Enforce safe work practices and compliance with PTW, LOTO, confined-space entry, and hot-work requirements; conduct toolbox talks and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, engineering, operations, vendors, HSE, and commissioning teams; support punch-list closure and escalate technical or scheduling constraints.

Documentation and workforce

• Maintain commissioning logs, test records, checklists, calibration records, and progress reports; support handover dossiers and final commissioning packages.
• Verify system tagging and labeling; manage availability and maintenance of tools and testing instruments.
• Supervise technicians and crews, provide training and technical support, and promote productivity and compliance.

Experience and education

• Minimum 8–10 years of commissioning experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, power, industrial, or process plant projects; Oil & Gas EPC experience is specified.
• Experience in startup, testing, troubleshooting, and system handover.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Skills and competencies

• Strong mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning expertise, leadership, and workforce supervision.
• Safety awareness and permit-to-work knowledge; problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficiency with commissioning tools, equipment, and documentation; coordination, reporting, and communication skills.
