Role overview

Inspection, certification, and safety

• Inspect independent, suspended, mobile, and modular scaffolds before use, routinely, and after modifications.
• Verify scaffold integrity, stability, bracing, access, load capacity, and approved-design compliance; certify using green, yellow, and red tags.
• Identify unsafe conditions, initiate corrective action, maintain inspection records, and conduct scaffold risk assessments.
• Support work-at-height safety; participate in HSE inspections, audits, site walkthroughs, and incident investigations.
• Monitor site work and report unsafe practices, conditions, and deviations from scaffold standards.

Coordination and documentation

• Coordinate inspection and design verification with scaffolding engineers, supervisors, and construction teams.
• Assist in reviewing drawings, erection methods, and load calculations; verify scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling against approved documents.
• Provide technical guidance to scaffolders and site supervision teams.
• Maintain inspection records, defect notices, clearance certificates, and scaffold registers; submit daily and weekly reports.
• Track active, modified, completed, and rejected scaffolds and support client and HSE audits with inspection records.

Experience and education

• 4–6 years of scaffolding experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial construction, or EPC projects.
• At least 3 years as a certified Scaffolding Inspector; large-scale oil and gas EPC experience is highly preferred.
• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.

Certification and skills

• Valid CISRS, CITB, or OSHA-approved Scaffolding Inspector certification; additional HSE certifications are advantageous.
• Knowledge of BS EN 12811, OSHA, CISRS requirements, client safety standards, and inspection requirements.
• Able to identify scaffold hazards and implement corrective actions; understands work-at-height safety and risk assessment.
• Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills; detail-oriented and proactive about safety and compliance.
