Design and coordinate mechanical systems for building projects, meeting local authority regulations, international standards, and client requirements.
The role is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE; the description specifies work in person.
Responsibilities
- Prepare calculations and drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems.
- Develop design concepts, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Calculate cooling loads and select equipment.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with UAE codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, ADDC, ADCD, and relevant authority requirements.
- Review shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Attend design coordination meetings and provide technical support during project execution.
- Assist with value engineering and design optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of MEP building design experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting design.
- AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory.
- Familiarity with UAE authority regulations and approval procedures.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred software
- Revit MEP experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HAP, Pipe Flow, or other engineering software is an advantage.
