Maintenance duties
- Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
- Maintain parts inventory, requisition supplies, operate shut-off valves, and communicate shift updates.
- Read blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC; troubleshoot hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform complex repairs on property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool-heating equipment in compliance with standards and codes.
- Repair pumps and motors, plumbing, electrical equipment, HVAC units, cosmetic items, appliances, internet devices, and televisions.
- Use lockout/tagout before maintenance and use engineering programs for preventive maintenance and energy management.
- Train and mentor colleagues as needed and perform Engineer on Duty readings and rounds.
Required qualifications
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification is required.
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification and licensing requirements.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background are preferred.
- Extensive maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, inventory, requisition, or surface preparation and painting experience is preferred.
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Work environment and standards
Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance issues and hazards, complete safety training, and properly store flammable materials.
Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protect company property, and provide courteous guest service.
Move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; perform work involving stairs, ramps, ladders, reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping.
Use computers to enter and locate work-related information; perform other reasonable duties as requested.
