Nova International General Contracting is a UAE-based general contracting company focused on branded residences and construction project delivery.

Role overview

The Materials and Procurement Engineer works in the Procurement Department at the company’s Abu Dhabi head office.

The role sources, evaluates, and procures materials and subcontractors for construction projects, supporting specification compliance and site execution.

The position reports to the Procurement Manager and coordinates with site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal technical functions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan procurement against construction schedules and coordinate material forecasts and requirements with site teams.
  • Source suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate quotations, prepare comparison sheets, and support award recommendations.
  • Maintain the approved vendor database and coordinate material submittals, consultant comments, and approvals.
  • Ensure material compliance with project specifications, BOQs, drawings, and MIRs.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery conditions and support contract issuance.
  • Coordinate site material needs and consumption, resolve supply and quality issues, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Track deliveries and consumption, monitor supplier and subcontractor performance, and help prevent site delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; Civil Engineering is preferred and Architecture is acceptable.
  • 8–12 years of procurement and materials management experience in contracting companies.
  • Understand procurement processes and ERP or procurement systems.
  • Prepare RFQs, comparison sheets, and contracts; work with specifications, BOQs, and drawings.
  • Strong technical and commercial evaluation, negotiation, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • UAE construction market, building or villa compound projects, and tier-one contractor experience are nice to have.
