Role overview

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines according to work orders and manufacturers’ instructions.
• Inspect tools and materials, replace tools as needed, and report material defects.
• Follow safe operating practices and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate with the QC Inspector after work is complete.
• Communicate relevant work and safety information during shift handovers.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to establish dimensions, tolerances, machining sequence, and setup.
• Monitor machines for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work and adjust controls.
• Select and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
• Perform related field, maintenance, shop, and supervisor-assigned duties.
• Clean and maintain the work area.

Required skills and knowledge

• Advanced skills across lathes, horizontal and vertical boring, milling, and other machine types.
• Experience listed includes pedestal drilling, cast machining, ball grinding, surface grinding, milling, horizontal and vertical boring, and ball machining.
• QC dimensional checks using precision measuring equipment and shaft TIR checks.
• Good verbal and written English, basic mathematics, machining knowledge, and basic welding understanding.

Experience and education

• At least three years of previous experience.
• ITI in Trade Machinist plus NCVT.
• Previous experience machining API connections is an advantage.
• Extensive workshop experience for oil and gas companies is ideal.

Physical and workplace requirements

• Light physical effort and sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment are stated.
• May require travel across the Middle East and GCC countries.
• Employees are responsible for arriving fit for duty, including having sufficient rest and nutrition for safe and effective work.
