Role overview

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, especially the Hankook Protec 9NC, and complete work orders using supplied materials.
• Check tools and materials before work; replace tools and report material defects to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Follow safe operating instructions and QHSE procedures; maintain safety and housekeeping.
• Coordinate completed work with the QC Inspector and communicate relevant shift handover information.
• Read technical drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequences, and setup requirements.
• Monitor machining for faults or out-of-tolerance results and adjust machine controls.
• Select and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
• Program Fanuc controls; set and operate Hankook Protec 9NC, Doosan 800, and Doosan 400 lathes.
• Complete related field, maintenance, shop, and other supervisor-assigned duties.

Experience and skills

• At least 7 years of CNC lathe experience, including at least 3 years on a Hankook Protec 9NC.
• Expert programming, setup, and operating capability for CNC lathes, particularly Hankook Protec 9NC.
• Program Fanuc 21i-TB and Fanuc 32i Model B controls.
• Experience with API equipment manufacture and repair and API threading.
• Premium threading experience is desirable; extensive workshop experience with oil and gas companies is described as ideal.
• Use precision measuring equipment and perform dimensional checks on components.
• Good spoken and written English communication.

Education and physical requirements

• Trade Machinist is listed as an education requirement; a matriculation certificate is preferred.
• The role involves light physical effort and requires sufficient physical ability to work in an industrial workshop.
• Travel across the Middle East and GCC countries may be required.
