Manager, Research Impact and Intelligence - Research Institute

Position summary

Strategy and data intelligence

• Develop institutional systems to track and evidence research activities and achievements.
• Coordinate data collection, management, and reporting pipelines with relevant NYUAD units.
• Analyze and synthesize research metrics and evaluation data into actionable intelligence.
• Produce visuals and highlights from internal frameworks and external tools for reports, presentations, and institutional decisions.

Reporting and stakeholder engagement

• Lead annual collection, validation, and analysis of progress and final reports for institute-funded awards.
• Handle recurring and ad hoc data requests, tailoring outputs to audiences and following confidentiality and information-security policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, policymakers, funders, external partners, and the public to promote research outcomes.
• Coordinate program development and communications for the annual Research Institute Day.
• Monitor public-facing platforms and work with communications colleagues on research highlights, press releases, and reports.

Capacity building and projects

• Develop training on metrics tracking and reporting consistency for researchers and administrators.
• Support communication of science outputs to internal, government, public, and industry audiences.
• Identify data stewards within funded awards and ensure they understand data definitions and procedures.
• Support review and renewal processes and other special assignments for institute leadership and operations.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific field aligned to NYUAD research themes.
• 5+ years in a research-intensive environment, with direct research-project coordination and administration.
• Proven ability to manage concurrent duties and assignments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, data-management and visualization tools, and research reporting platforms and analytics.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, prioritization, communication, discretion, initiative, and ability to work independently.

Tools and platforms

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Data visualization examples include Tableau, QlikView, and Power BI.
• Research analytics examples include Pure, Scopus, SciVal, Altmetric, Cayuse, Web of Science, and Interfolio.

Preferred experience

• Familiarity with higher education ranking factors and methodologies.
• Familiarity with project management principles.
• Experience managing complex sponsored research projects with multiple stakeholders.
