Role overview

Responsibilities and working practices

• Design and implement systems and tools, and demonstrate efficacy through comparative performance evaluations or user studies.
• Work independently or as part of a team, depending on project scope.
• Use good coding and reproducible experimentation practices; code and data artifacts are publicly shared.
• Provide concise status updates, present work and challenges clearly, publish findings, and strive to meet deadlines.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or a master’s degree and less than five years of relevant research experience.
• Demonstrated experience in systems or tool building, algorithmic thinking, and research.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and other programming frameworks.

Desirable qualifications

• Familiarity with declarative programming, SQL, and data management is highly desirable.
• Advanced coursework or projects in systems, HCI, or AI/ML are desirable.
