Manager Procurement (IT Category)

About the role

Strategic responsibilities

• Provide strategic analysis to define comprehensive IT category planning.
• Develop cost saving plans for QR Group to reduce overall expenditure.
• Define supply strategy for relevant product categories.
• Develop cross-functional strategic planning to leverage all benefits possible.
• Review and input to department policies and processes for best practice and continuous improvement.

Operational responsibilities

• Ensure high service levels from the procurement team including timelines, professionalism, and communications.
• Set and achieve IT category KPIs and assess progress.
• Review and endorse staff documents for compliance and best practice.
• Lead high-level supplier negotiations on costs, commercial and contractual terms.
• Assist in developing the departmental budget and manage quality control across the project life cycle.
• Provide summaries and data for reporting on spend, timelines, and operational state.
• Run and action performance reports on assigned categories.
• Challenge user timelines, specifications, sourcing methods, and supplier lists to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Prioritize and assign workload and tenders to the category team and support other Procurement Managers.
• Forward plan procurement activities with full accountability for category planning with stakeholder senior management.

About You

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.
• Strong IT category specific experience of at least 5 years.
• Fluent command of the English language.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a very dynamic environment under pressure with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to influence, convince, and build effective business relationships across diverse groups.
• Service-oriented mindset with a desire to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
• Excellent negotiation planning, management, and execution skills.
• Contractual and financial acumen.
• Planning, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Managerial skills including delegation, direction setting, workflow management, mentoring, and coaching.
