About the role

Manager of Procurement for the IT category at Qatar Airways Group, based in Qatar-Doha.

Manages category procurement requirements, strategy, supply, savings targets, and team delivery in line with company requirements.

Strategic responsibilities

  • Analyze and define comprehensive IT category plans and cost-saving plans to reduce expenditure against budget.
  • Define supply strategies and develop cross-functional plans to maximize benefits for the group.
  • Review department policies and processes to support best practice and continuous improvement.

Operational responsibilities

  • Maintain procurement service levels, set and monitor IT category KPIs, and review staff documents for compliance and best practice.
  • Negotiate supplier costs and commercial and contractual terms, including high-value or high-risk tenders.
  • Assist with departmental budgets and oversee project quality, timelines, risks, stakeholder liaison, and change management.
  • Provide reporting on spend, timelines, and operations; review performance and act to improve ways of working.
  • Challenge specifications, timelines, sourcing methods, and supplier lists; assign team workload and tenders and plan procurement with senior stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as directed by the Head of Department.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least eight years of job-related experience.
  • At least five years of IT category-specific experience.
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills; able to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to influence, build business relationships, and maintain a service-oriented focus.
  • Strong negotiation, contractual and financial acumen, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Managerial ability to delegate, direct workflow, coach and develop staff, and foster teamwork.
