M&V Engineer – Measurement & Verification

Measurement and verification duties

• Develop and implement IPMVP-based M&V plans using Options A, B, C, or D for ESCO and Energy Performance Contracts.
• Define measurement boundaries, baselines, and contractual adjustment methodologies.
• Build and validate regression and energy models, including routine and non-routine adjustments.
• Calculate, verify, and reconcile guaranteed energy and cost savings against contract targets.
• Verify ECM installation and performance through site inspections, measurements, and monitoring.
• Set metering, sub-metering, and BMS/EMS data requirements and ensure data quality.
• Prepare periodic M&V and savings reports for clients, regulators, and management.
• Support savings disputes and contract discussions with technical justification.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of energy engineering experience, including hands-on M&V.
• CMVP or PMVA certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of IPMVP and savings calculation methods.
• Experience with ESCO/EPC savings guarantees and performance-based contracts.
• Understanding of HVAC, chillers, district cooling, lighting, controls, and utility tariffs.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and client communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

• UAE or GCC ESCO/EPC project experience is preferred.
• CEM certification and Arabic speaking are preferred.
