A real estate developer in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Legal Manager for its Projects and Construction Department.
The role provides high-level legal support to the Legal Director (Projects & Construction) and General Counsel across procurement, construction, real estate development, and strategic joint ventures.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day legal affairs, particularly procurement, projects, and construction matters.
- Analyze, prepare, and negotiate agreements with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and commercial partners, along with leases, licenses, corporate documents, opinions, and other documents.
- Manage alternative dispute resolution, litigation, and settlements under the Legal Director's oversight.
- Manage external counsel on briefs and litigation documents, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective work on specialized matters.
- Advise project managers, procurement leads, and business units on project delivery, contract administration, and procurement strategies.
- Represent the construction legal team in delegated steering committees, risk panels, and cross-functional groups; identify risks and propose mitigations.
- Draft and update legal templates, guidance notes, and playbooks, and deliver training to project and procurement teams.
- Supervise and train junior legal department members.
Education and experience
- Bar membership is required.
- A Bachelor of Laws is required.
- At least 4 years of legal experience in a law firm or company operating in development is required.
- Previous private-practice experience in an international law firm or reputable comparable company is essential.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills in English are required.
