Role overview
Lead systems realization work for strategic weapon systems, integrating specialty engineering, multiphysics analysis, and digital engineering across complex systems of systems.
Serve as a technical anchor for high-consequence defense programs, bridging physical analysis and system architecture.
Key responsibilities
- Shape strategic weapon-system architectures by integrating digital engineering with structural, thermal, flight-dynamics, and reliability analyses in Cameo or MagicDraw.
- Lead and defend multidisciplinary engineering analyses, including structural-thermal, electromagnetic, nuclear surety, logistics, and statistical margin studies.
- Establish technical standards for system design, risk mitigation, and verification, and provide analyses and trade studies for program decisions.
- Embed quantitative analysis, parametric constraints, and performance budgets in a unified digital baseline with traceability from operational requirements through test data reduction.
- Deliver technical briefings and decision-ready reports to military sponsors, national laboratories, and prime contractors.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams across government, industry, and academia, building consensus through analytical rigor and technical integrity.
Core expectations
- Proven record leading design and analysis across multiple hard-science engineering domains, such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace, nuclear, chemical, or materials engineering.
- Extensive expertise developing, modifying, or coupling high-fidelity physics-based, logistics-based, or statistical models and simulations.
- Active hands-on proficiency in Cameo Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw using SysML for analytical architectures, trade studies, parametric constraints, and system realization.
- Deep command of the systems engineering lifecycle and ability to translate sponsor missions into verified physical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor analysts, challenge assumptions productively, and guide technical specialists.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in aerospace, mechanical, electrical/electronic, nuclear, chemical, or materials engineering, or an applied physical science.
- At least 10 years of quantitative engineering design and analysis experience, including at least five years in a senior or lead technical capacity focused on complex physical systems.
- Hands-on experience authoring and maintaining system architecture products in Cameo Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw using SysML.
Compensation
- Salary range is $100,000–$245,000 per year.
