Lead Software Engineer in JPMorganChase Consumer & Community Banking, contributing as a core technical member of an agile team.
The team builds and enhances secure, stable, and scalable technology products supporting business objectives.
UI engineering and delivery
- Lead delivery of complex React and TypeScript UI features aligned with shared design systems and platform standards.
- Define front-end architecture for state management, APIs, error handling, routing, and applicable micro-frontends; drive adoption through reviews and reference implementations.
- Own automated testing strategy, performance optimization, accessibility compliance, and production monitoring.
- Improve UI CI/CD through testing, quality gates, build optimization, and release automation.
AI-assisted engineering and operational improvement
- Use approved AI development tools for refactoring, test generation, and documentation with rigorous human validation.
- Lead team adoption of authorized AI engineering practices and set validation standards for security, correctness, and performance.
- Use SDLC automation capabilities and identify ways to automate recurring issue remediation.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess technical designs and fit with existing systems.
Required qualifications
- Formal software engineering training or certification and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Strong enterprise web development experience with React and TypeScript, including advanced component architecture.
- Ability to lead UI design and mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and standards.
- Strong UI testing and complex debugging experience; examples include Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Experience improving front-end CI/CD and automated quality gates.
- Disciplined use and leadership of approved AI-assisted development tools, with validation and secure-use practices.
- Understanding of responsible AI, sensitive data handling, resiliency, security, and coaching safe adoption.
- Proficiency across the SDLC; advanced understanding of Agile, CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
- In-depth financial-services IT knowledge and practical cloud-native experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with large-scale design systems and cross-team adoption is preferred.
- Performance engineering, accessibility auditing, modern UI architecture, and web observability experience are preferred.
- A track record improving delivery metrics and reusable tooling or templates is preferred.
