Lead Site Engineer - Civil role with Jacobs in construction, supporting life-science project work.
The role includes supervising civil construction and coordinating contractors, quality, safety, and project progress.
Responsibilities
- Review scope of work and bill of quantities against the client contract; supervise construction against drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Establish survey controls and verify benchmarks and layouts before foundation work; raise requests for information to resolve drawing discrepancies.
- Review contractor quality plans, inspection and test plans, and work procedures; monitor compliance and track noncompliance corrections.
- Witness and document tests, monitor quality check sheets, inspect concrete work, authorize pours, and review reinforced-concrete bar-bending schedules.
- Coordinate structure and foundation handovers, work-front releases, punch-list closeout, drawing holds, and contractor follow-up.
- Scrutinize and certify contractor bills as needed; maintain joint measurement records for approved variations and changes.
- Monitor progress and contractor labour, machinery, and material resources against the schedule; coordinate civil works as directed by the Construction Manager.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Sound knowledge of basic engineering principles and Indian Standard Codes; experience implementing HSE procedures.
- Specific experience supervising finishes on FMCG or industrial projects.
- EPCm, PMC, or large EPC company experience is preferred.
- Effective communication skills for conveying site discrepancies and issues to project leads and clients.
