Lead, QA & Testing

Overview

• Essential duties/Responsibilities:
• Define and own the QA and testing strategy, standards and processes across digital products and platforms.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of QA engineers / testers, managing workload allocation and quality of output.
• Design, implement and maintain test plans, test cases and automated test suites across functional, integration, regression and performance testing.
• Drive test automation adoption and tooling (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) to increase coverage and reduce manual effort.
• Embed QA within Agile / DevOps delivery, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish quality metrics and reporting (defect density, test coverage, escape rate) and report to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development, product and business teams so requirements are testable and quality is built in early.
• Manage the defect lifecycle, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of the testing function.

• Stand up an AI-enabled test automation capability in the first year.
• Introducing AI tooling (AI-assisted test-case generation, self-healing automation and intelligent test selection) to an agreed set of priority products, and demonstrating measurable gains in automation speed, coverage and defect detection.
• 2.
• Increase automated test coverage to an agreed target and integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to shorten release cycles.
• 3.
• Build and uplift the QA team's capability and reduce the production defect escape rate by an agreed percentage year-on-year.
• Qualifications, certifications, technical & soft skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 6+ years in software QA / testing, including 2+ years in a QA lead / management role.
• Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar).
• Hands-on experience with API testing, performance testing and CI/CD integration (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Proven experience defining QA strategy, processes and metrics in an Agile / DevOps environment.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
