Work supports critical grid infrastructure for utilities including TAQA, DEWA, and SEWA, across the UAE and wider Middle East.

Impact and responsibilities

  • Lead MEP tenders: review specifications, employer requirements, and drawings; prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and technical proposals; support risk assessments, value engineering, and client clarifications.
  • Serve as technical authority for fire protection, HVAC, LSP, ELV, plumbing, utility services, and EOT crane systems; produce and review calculations, equipment sizing, layouts, specifications, and design packages.
  • Run RFQs, technical bid evaluations, and vendor assessments; review consultant deliverables, vendor documents, and material submittals for compliance.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, control, telecom, and SCMS teams.
  • Supervise MEP installation for quality, safety, and schedule; resolve technical queries, design changes, and site non-conformances.
  • Lead FAT, SAT, integrated testing, and commissioning for fire alarm, gas suppression, water-based fire protection, HVAC, LSP, ELV, and EOT crane systems.
  • Deliver commissioning records, handover dossiers, and close-out reports.
  • Prepare method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, and O&M documentation; manage authority approvals and inspections.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8–12 years of experience across MEP engineering, tendering, design management, and project execution.
  • Proven track record on substations, transmission and distribution projects, power plants, or comparable industrial infrastructure; ideally covering bid through handover.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire detection and suppression, HVAC, LSP, ELV, plumbing and drainage, utility services, and EOT crane systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and specification writing.
  • Hands-on experience with technical bid evaluations, cost estimation, vendor and subcontractor management, procurement support, construction supervision, and FAT/SAT and commissioning.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA, IEC, and UAE authority and utility requirements, including UAE Civil Defence, TAQA, DEWA, SEWA, and Etihad Water & Electricity; experience securing approvals and passing inspections.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; strong stakeholder and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the UAE and wider Middle East as projects require.

Project setting

  • The role involves supervising MEP installation on site and travel across the UAE and wider Middle East as projects require.
