Position Overview
Lead Engineer Cost Control role in the Exploration and Production business supporting coal-bed methane drilling and completion operations.
The role is based in Navi Mumbai according to the posting and supports upstream well operations, cost control, and contractor management.
Job Responsibilities
- Support well planning and supervise rig, hydraulic fracturing, and completion operations.
- Ensure compliance with DGMS, HSE, QA/QC, environmental, and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate well-site availability and participate in site surveys with G&G, LAQ, and civil teams.
- Maintain drilling and completion records and monitor actual well costs against AFE and budgets.
- Review contractor invoices and monitor contractor performance and compliance.
- Prepare equipment scopes and specifications for tender packages.
- Plan to minimize downhole complications and assist with resolving operational issues.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in petroleum or mechanical engineering is required.
- At least 10 years of drilling and completion experience in CBM or upstream oil and gas is required.
- CBM field experience is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical knowledge of drilling, hydraulic fracturing, completion, CTU, and pump setting operations is required.
- The role requires techno-commercial understanding and experience with AFE, budgeting, well cost control, and contractor performance monitoring.
