Construction Engineer for CHO Projects MEP, supporting project execution across designated units of a complex.
Function/business area: Project Management. The description lists Jamnagar as the job location.
Responsibilities
- Track contractor manpower and resource availability and allocation by activity across designated units.
- Use manpower and resources effectively to avoid delays and meet unit priorities.
- Review project standards, specifications, drawings, and 3D models; check for clashes with other disciplines.
- Prepare quarterly rolling look-ahead plans for electrical materials, with monthly requirements and bulk items.
- Coordinate with unit construction managers and disciplines to establish sequential work fronts.
- Develop 90-day, monthly, and weekly micro-plans with project control engineers and contractors.
- Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, EPC electrical, and operations and maintenance groups for safe, timely execution.
Education and experience
- Necessary qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering with 6–8 years of experience, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 14–16 years of experience.
Skills and competencies
- Knowledge of electrical distribution, statutory requirements, codes and standards including IS/IEC and IE Rules, equipment and material costs, and engineering practices.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification, protection coordination, power, earthing and lighting layouts, motor starting schemes, DG and UPS schemes, cable sizing, and electrical safety.
- Knowledge of site testing and commissioning, power sources and generating systems, MCT blocks, I/O interfaces, safety and F&G interlocks, and electrical drawing symbols.
