Lead Electrical Engineer role in Abu Dhabi Operations, UAE, focused on refinery and onshore/offshore oil and gas projects.
Leads and executes multiple projects and handles engineering design review and analysis assignments.
Reports to the Head of Discipline - Electrical.
Responsibilities and duties
- Lead and execute local and international projects; prepare electrical engineering documents and drawings.
- Support process-industry project design and assist engineering and discipline managers with project design.
- Verify source data and concepts; coordinate and finalize the engineering document deliverable register.
- Produce electrical design deliverables using SPEL, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, cable-sizing tools, and DIALux.
- Apply relay setting and coordination, CT sizing, and relevant electrical system knowledge.
- Prepare RFQs, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations; review vendor documents and design outputs.
- Review multidisciplinary and subcontractor documents and coordinate client review, approval, and technical queries.
- Address health, safety, quality, and constructability requirements and ensure compliance with laws, standards, and project requirements.
- Participate in E-HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and pre-commissioning; coordinate as-built preparation.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Engineering.
- 15+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industries, including at least 8 years in a senior role.
- FEED and EPC project experience with delivery to ADNOC Onshore.
- Engineering consultancy experience is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative, hardworking, problem-solving approach.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
- Must meet UAE visa requirements.
