Laundry Valet

Job Purpose

Guest Laundry Service

• Collect guest laundry, dry-cleaning, and pressing items from guest rooms according to hotel procedures.
• Deliver clean and pressed laundry to the correct guest room within the requested turnaround time.
• Handle garments, uniforms, linen, and other items carefully, including special garment-care instructions.
• Check laundry bags and guest lists for accuracy; verify quantities and condition, and report stains, damage, missing items, or irregularities.
• Tag, sort, and transfer laundry to the appropriate section; assist with sorting, folding, packing, and preparation for delivery.
• Track guest laundry and follow express, same-day, and regular service procedures.

Coordination and Guest Care

• Coordinate requirements with Laundry Attendants, Housekeeping, and Front Office, including shift handovers.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and escalate complaints or service issues to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Avoid disturbing guests during collection and delivery; follow lost-and-found procedures and protect guest confidentiality.
• Support supply inventory and assist during peak periods, VIP arrivals, and special events.

Workplace Standards

• Keep collection and delivery areas, trolleys, baskets, and equipment clean and organised.
• Handle chemicals and equipment safely, use PPE when required, and follow health, safety, hygiene, and fire safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in hotel laundry, housekeeping, or valet service is preferred; 4-star or 5-star hotel experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of guest laundry and garment-handling procedures.
• Good customer service and communication skills, with attention to detail and accurate item identification.
• Physically fit to stand and walk for extended periods and safely handle laundry bags and trolleys.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment and flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good grooming and personal hygiene; positive attitude, team support, and ability to work in a multicultural hotel environment.
