Laundry duties
- Operate washing, dry-cleaning, and drying machinery; add chemicals and clean lint traps.
- Identify stained or damaged items and determine whether to repair, spot-treat, rewash, or discard them.
- Inspect cleaned articles and place them in clean linen carts; set dryer times and temperatures for each fabric load.
- Clean dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
- Fold clean articles by hand or machine and maintain accurate laundry records.
Standards and workplace duties
- Follow safety, security, and company procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and complete safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and company assets; work positively with colleagues and support team goals.
- Meet quality standards, inspect tools and equipment for defects, and contribute ideas for improved efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost savings.
- Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Qualifications and physical demands
- No related work experience is specified as necessary; no high school diploma or GED equivalent is specified as necessary.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Work may involve extended periods standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping; and navigating confined, elevated, uneven, or slippery areas and stairs or ramps.
