Landscape Architect – (Technical)

Role purpose

Technical design and documentation

• Prepare detailed landscape packages from schematic design through tender and IFC stages.
• Develop construction details, sections, elevations, schedules, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Produce hardscape, softscape, irrigation, grading, and landscape construction documentation.
• Check design information for accuracy, quality, standards compliance, and alignment with project milestones.

Coordination and project delivery

• Coordinate with architects, urban designers, civil and structural engineers, MEP consultants, irrigation specialists, and other disciplines.
• Attend coordination meetings and workshops; resolve clashes and technical interface issues.
• Review consultant and contractor submissions and assist with RFIs, technical queries, revisions, and design changes.
• Monitor deliverables and support timely delivery aligned with client needs, project objectives, and authority regulations.

Quality and buildability

• Develop buildable solutions while preserving design intent; evaluate materials and construction methods for durability, maintainability, and performance.
• Identify constructability and execution risks and support cost-effective solutions that maintain quality and performance.

Construction support

• Review shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and contractor RFIs.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor landscape works, and prepare site observation or non-compliance reports with corrective actions where needed.
• Participate in progress meetings and assist with snagging, punch lists, and project close-out.

Team collaboration

• Work with Senior Landscape Architects, guide junior team members, and participate in technical reviews and lessons-learned workshops.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Minimum 5–8 years of professional Landscape Architecture experience.
• Strong experience in detailed design, technical documentation, and construction support.
• Proven landscape construction detailing and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes; Middle East experience preferred.

Tools and technical knowledge

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF editing software.
• Revit, construction communication platforms, and Navisworks are advantageous.
• Strong understanding of hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, grading and levels, landscape construction methods, supervision and submittal reviews, material specifications, and QA/QC.
