Laboratory Manager
Country Location: Naoero (located in South Pacific Ocean)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled **Laboratory Manager** to oversee the daily operations of the hospital laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee overall operations of the hospital laboratory.
- Manage and supervise laboratory technologists and technicians.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of diagnostic test results.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory accreditation standards and healthcare regulations.
- Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Manage laboratory inventory, procurement, and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with doctors and medical staff regarding test results and clinical requirements.
- Ensure proper calibration and functioning of laboratory instruments.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train and mentor laboratory staff to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity.
- Prepare reports for hospital management and regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or related field.
- **Minimum 10 years of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.**
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality standards.
- Experience with laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., ISO, CAP, JCI preferred).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Good communication skills in English
