Role overview

Maintenance responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Operate equipment and building utility shut-off valves; maintain maintenance inventory and requisition supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved procedures.
• Address maintenance needs across HVAC and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building systems.
• Perform painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, light-bulb and A/C filter replacement, and cleanup of repair areas.
• Troubleshoot and make basic repairs to equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, and related devices.
• Program televisions; perform housekeeping and engineering inventory duties; repair landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work and store flammable materials properly.
• Enter air-handler schedules and adjust temperatures using basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• A driver's license is required.
• Some experience in general maintenance and surface preparation or painting is preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified as necessary.

• Follow safety, security, and quality procedures; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries and complete safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and provide courteous guest service.
• Work with coworkers toward shared goals and communicate clearly.
• The role requires moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, using stairs, ramps, or ladders, and bending, reaching, and stooping.
