Junior Sous Chef position in Food and Beverage & Culinary.
Full-time schedule; non-management position.
Work location is in person at the Marriott property in Dubai.
Kitchen operations
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen workers.
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays; ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnish.
- Monitor food quantities and inform service staff about specials and out-of-stock menu items.
- Prepare special meals or substitutes; assist kitchen staff and provide needed items.
- Monitor kitchen and food supplies and maintain food safety and product logs.
- Ensure food quality and notify the manager about products that do not meet specifications.
Team and service responsibilities
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Address guest service needs, communicate professionally, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Support team goals and quality standards; perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School degree is preferred.
- Four to six years of related work experience is preferred.
- At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- No license or certification is specified.
Work demands and conduct
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company assets.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and reach, bend, twist, pull, or stoop as needed.
- Move and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
