Prepare cold foods and other menu items while meeting food quality, recipe, and presentation standards.
Food preparation and quality
- Prepare special meals, substitutions, and cold foods; cook according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and checklists.
- Regulate ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; thaw frozen food in the refrigerator.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food; maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared items.
- Tell the Chef about excess food for daily specials and inform service staff about specials and unavailable menu items.
Team and guest service
- Communicate when assistance is needed during busy periods.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Anticipate and address guest needs, communicate professionally, and support positive working relationships and team goals.
Preferred qualifications
- At least three years of related work experience is preferred.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified as required.
Work practices and physical demands
- Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
- Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and quality standards, and protect company assets.
- The role involves extended periods standing, sitting, or walking; bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and moving or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance.
