Junior Interior Designer
About This Role
As a Junior Interior Designer at ELE Interior, you will be integral to executing high-end design projects, working alongside Senior Designers to bring each vision to life. Your role will involve supporting every phase of the design process, from concept development through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Main Scope of Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Senior Designer in completing all steps of the assigned project.
- Act as a secondary point of contact for the assigned project.
- Prepare all design documentation with the assistance of the Senior Designer.
- Take on increasing responsibility and freedom with each project while tracking personal performance and growth.
Design Support:
- Create Attractive Designs: Design layouts for various projects, adhering to company style and client requirements.
- Mood Boards & Presentations: Support the Senior Designer in creating mood boards, 3D/2D presentations, mock-ups, and renderings for client presentations.
- Space Planning: Assist in creating space planning proposals, taking creative input lead for smaller projects with guidance from the Senior Designer.
- FF&E & Procurement: Prepare relevant FF&E documentation and assist with procurement processes.
- 3D Visualization: Oversee the production of 3D visuals, reporting any issues (e.g., delays or misalignments) to the Senior Designer.
- Material and Finishes Schedules: Assist in preparing material and finishes schedule documentation.
Client Interaction & Communication:
- Secondary Point of Contact: Join client meetings alongside the Senior Designer when possible, providing support and updates.
- Client Communication: Ensure the client’s requests are promptly addressed and they are always updated on project progress.
Project Management & Site Supervision:
- Site Visits: Attend site visits to monitor project progress when possible.
- Reporting: Create minutes of meetings (MOM) and reports after every site visit and meeting with contractors, updating clients on key project details such as achievements, risks, and potential design changes.
- Project Supervision: Manage and organize materials, supervising both onsite and offsite, and communicate with clients and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborating with the Team: Work alongside senior designers, 3D teams, and interns to achieve project goals. Provide advice and performance management for junior members when needed.
- Managing Deliverables: Assist in managing the Interior Design department's deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and standards are upheld.
- Training & Development: Provide support, training, and advice to junior team members and interns, helping with their professional growth.
Professional Development:
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain industry knowledge and trends to stay relevant in the field.
- Industry Events: Represent the company at industry events to stay connected with the design community and gain insights into emerging trends.
Documentation & Organization:
- Project Documentation: Keep clear, organized records for each project from onboarding to completion, following company standards. This includes emails, reports, client input, and key project documents.
- Approvals/Signatures: Collect and store all signed forms in the designated folder for each assigned project.
Sample Room Management:
- Material Organization: Assist in keeping the sample room organized and up-to-date, ensuring that new materials from local suppliers are available for project use.
Requirements Technical Skills & Requirements:
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of key industry software, including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, PowerPoint, and InDesign, with familiarity in 3D modelling and rendering software.
- Travel Flexibility: Travel is a must for site visits, client meetings, and other project-related activities. This will involve frequent travel to various project locations, both within Dubai and outside the country as required.
- Driving License & Vehicle: A valid UAE driving license and access to a car is mandatory, as some project sites may require travel.
- Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience:
Proven experience in Luxury Residential, Hospitality, and Commercial Interior Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
