The IT Officer manages, maintains, and supports organizational IT infrastructure, computer systems, networks, servers, and related technology resources.
The role supports efficient IT operations, data security and integrity, employee technical support, reduced downtime, and business continuity.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and maintain company computer systems, networks, servers, and IT infrastructure.
- Provide employee technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and update computer systems, software, and IT equipment; monitor system performance and IT services.
- Implement security measures, perform regular backups, and maintain data recovery procedures.
- Maintain IT equipment, software licenses, and system documentation.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system configurations.
- Identify and resolve technical problems to minimize disruptions and downtime; ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and efficient.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and system administration.
- Experience in IT security, data backup, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage IT operations, maintain systems, and ensure business continuity.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
