Role overview
The Internal Auditor provides an independent, evidence-based view of processes, controls, and governance.
The role supports business growth and accountability by identifying risks before they cause loss, disruption, or exposure.
The position offers exposure to industrial, project-based, inventory-intensive, workshop-based, and cross-functional operations.
Audit planning and controls
- Support risk-based annual and periodic audit plans.
- Conduct scheduled and surprise audits across departments, branches, warehouses, workshops, projects, and operational locations.
- Review controls, approval processes, segregation of duties, policies, procedures, and delegated authority.
- Document audit objectives, scope, testing methods, findings, evidence, and working papers.
Financial and operational audits
- Review revenue, purchasing, payments, expenses, advances, reimbursements, receivables, supplier balances, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and unusual transactions.
- Conduct physical inventory checks and review stock, materials, tools, machinery, vehicles, IT assets, and fixed-asset controls.
- Review procurement, supplier selection, purchase orders, approvals, due diligence, supplier advances, and invoice matching.
- Review sales, pricing, customer credit, contracts, project costs, billing, margins, and commercial exceptions.
Process and compliance audits
- Review finance, procurement, sales, production, warehouse, logistics, projects, HR, payroll, IT, and administration processes.
- Assess ERP, accounting, access-rights, user-authorisation, system, and management-reporting controls.
- Support audits related to quality, HSE, certification, and regulatory requirements where relevant.
- Assess whether records are complete, controlled, retrievable, and audit-ready.
Reporting and follow-up
- Prepare reports covering findings, risks, root causes, corrective actions, and financial, operational, compliance, or reputational impact.
- Agree action owners and completion timelines, maintain an audit action tracker, and verify implementation.
- Escalate overdue or high-risk findings and highlight recurring control issues and systemic risks.
- Support risk registers, control matrices, process documentation, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications
- A CA, ACCA, CMA, CIA, or equivalent professional qualification is required.
- Approximately 3–6 years of internal audit, external audit, risk, controls, or compliance experience is required.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and operational risk is required.
- Experience reviewing procurement, inventory, sales, receivables, payments, and business operations is required.
Experience and skills
- Candidates should be able to analyse transactions, identify unusual patterns, and investigate discrepancies.
- Experience preparing audit working papers, reports, and corrective-action trackers is required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- Ability to work with ERP, accounting, and business-management systems is required.
Preferred experience
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, trading, industrial, construction, oil and gas, marine, logistics, or project-based environments is preferred.
- Inventory-intensive, warehouse, manufacturing, project-audit, contract-review, and commercial-control experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of VAT, corporate tax, financial reporting, UAE regulatory requirements, ISO systems, or fraud investigations is advantageous.
- Experience across multiple branches, entities, or countries is advantageous.
Growth opportunity
- The role may grow into broader responsibility across internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance, process excellence, and business controls.
- The position is intended to help prevent recurring problems, not only identify what went wrong.
